Under The Mountain is the new release on Il Domanii Music from Fort Worth’s Kävin Allenson and Austin’s Terry Vernixx. At times and all at once psychedelic, ambient, jazz, and progressive rock, all of which is channeled through well balanced harmonic intervals. This 26 minute EP explores both composers’ need to stretch out and delve into unfamiliar musical territory together and is the first of many duo collaborations to come. Terry’s ethereal keyboards and ascetic rhythms give abundant space for Kävin to stretch out on multiple string instruments, the results bearing an incisive interpretation of melodics and harmony within the improvisational modal structures contained therein. Influenced by Terje Rypdal, Neu, The Orb, Steve Tibbetts, Popol Vuh.
